What's My Line II

Wisconsin-#9 Iowa. Iowa hasn't played since getting humbled by the "Boilers." "Boogers" pasted the same team last weekend! Wow, that's a common opponent for you. WI 30-17 AT Purdue and the week before Purdue 24-7 AT Iowa. That's by far WI's most impressive win. 'Due has IA's number for some reason but they really did a number on the "Hawkeyes".  And "Hawks" really shoulda lost to PSU. PSU is the only other common opponent. PSU 16-10 at WI in the first week, Iowa 23-20 in Iowa City Oct. 9. I'm thinking like Vegas only. How will they size these two up to set the line? WI 4-3, IA 6-1. WI-2.

#18 Auburn-#10 Ole Miss. MS 6-1, AU 5-2. Lane Kiffin lucky (AR) but luck can get contagious. What was the line in last week's Ole Miss at Rocky Top? Really small, right? 1.5, 3.5? I really think Vegas is going to make the "Rebels" favorites. But how can they be even miniscule faves if they were miniscule faves at TN? That's what I think Vegas thinks, what can I tell you. Ole Miss-1...Does this change anything? Auburn's coach is Bryan Harsin. Harsin got COVID in August. Said as far back as July he would not discuss his vax status. On Friday the university imposed a mandate to be fully vaccinated on all employees or face termination. Harsin today again refused to discuss his vaccination status. He has to show proof of vaccination by no later than Dec. 8 which means he has to get fully vaxed no later than Nov. 24. Harsin said he and his team are "fully focused" on Ole Miss which, since he had to answer a media question on this, means that for the limited time his answer took he was not. Does that change what I think Vegas will set the line at? No. Stickin' with MS-1.

#11 Notre Dame-North Carolina. ND 6-1, UNC 4-3 (3-3). Common opponents ("Irish" play half their games in ACC). FSU: ND 41-38 in OT in Tally first game; UNC lost at home Oct. 9 35-25. Sheesh, I didn't remember that loss. I was under the impression FSU continued to really suck and the Apple Chills had sorta righted themselves. Va. Tech: UNC lost by 7 in Blacksburg Sept. 3; Irishmen won by three same place Oct. 9. Quality wins: ND: I don't know, do you count Purdue, do you count Wisconsin? USC? UNC: Virginia? UNC has lost two at home. What has happened to UNC? They still have Sam Howell, still have Mack Brown. ND-10.

Mississippi State-#12 Kentucky. MS State 4-3 (2-2) KY 6-1 (4-1). Cowbells signature win 24-10 over NC State 9/11. No! 26-22 in College Station Oct. 2. Bad losses: at Memphis 31-29 Sept. 18, at home to LSU 28-25 Sept. 25. That's not a bad loss. KY destroyed LSU in Lex. 42-21 Oct. 9. "Bayou Bengals" a common. BIG advantage Jellies. KY good win at home over FU; I count their 35-28 win over Mizzou in Lex. good. Bad home W 28-23 over Chattanooga Sept. 18. LSU's the only common. Two goo' ba' clubs. I think Vegas will set this line in KY's favor and pretty heavily. KY-10 and I think that will be a mistook on the 'ouse’s part.

#13 Woke Forest-Duke. Dookies are bad, 3-4 (0-3).  Woke's most impressive win at Old Virginny 37-17 Sept. 24. Oh Lord, Virginia's a common. "Cavaliers" smeared Duke 48-0 last weekend! In...wherever Virginia is, Charlottesville. UVA has a good record, 6-2 (4-2). No other commons, that's unbelievable. Woke-17.

#15 Okie State-Kansas. 'Pokes are 6-1 (3-1) but you know what, they have not killed anyone. They're like their cousins in Norman. 7 over Missouri STATE, 5 over Tulsa, both in Stillwater, 1 at Boise, 11 home to K-State, 10 over Baylor at home, their most impressive W, 8 at Texas, and their lone loss by 3 at Iowa State. Weird! I was going to predict a line of -20 'til I saw all that. "Jayhawks" 1-6 (0-4) now, hoo-doggie. Dear God, you know who they hung closest with? "Sooners." :o  Evidently there is something still in the water in the entire state of Oklahoma do you get it? I have a tough time predicting how big the 'ouse will make this line with Okie State. Are they going to set it by more than the ‘Pokes won over Baylor? Their largest margin is 11 over K-State. Vegas, good luck with this one: Okie State-12.

#16 Baylor-Texas.  Bear Rapists 6-1 (3-1),  Horns 4-3 (2-2). How can these teams have only one common opponent playing in the same conference?  Oklahoma State beat Baylor 24-14 in Stillwater Oct. 2; they beat the Horns 32-24 in Austin Oct. 16. TX’ best win is at TCU by 5; Baylor’s at home by 3 over Iowa State Sept. 25. I don’t even know why Baylor is ranked. I don’t know who their coach is (Vegas knows). I do know who TX’ coach is.  Baylor-7

Hyustin-#19 Smyustin. What conference is this, C-USA? No, AAC. Apologize for any confusion.  “Cougs” 6-1 (4-0) :o How are they not ranked? Smoo 7-0 (3-0). Oh hell, UH lost to TT 38-21 in their own Cowtown (!), that’s how come they aren’t ranked.  They haven’t played anybody. Smoo beat TCYU, that’s their only decent win. They’re only ranked because they’re unbeaten (albeit in C-USA).  Oh bother. Okay, I’m just predicting the ‘ouse. UH at home for what that’s worth. I think Vegas is going to make Smoo the fave (and I thinks that gonna be a mistook; I think “Cougs” gonna win this one) cuz they’re ranked. SMU-3.

#21 San Diego State-Fresno State. Don’t care, won’t invest, for fun I’ll say SDS-7.

WVU-#22  Iowa State. Can’t believe Vegas favored “Cyclops” last week and were right. But wasn’t the line like 7? They won by 3? Did I make money on that? Don’t remember. ‘Clones have two losses,  one to Iowa at home by TEN, the other at Baylor by tyoo.  Haven’t beaten anybody but Okie State.  Trading on Matt Campbell’s rep is what they’re doing.  On the other hand, Let’s Blow, Mountaineers are 3-4 (1-3). ‘Eers won at TCYU just last week, 29-17(!) Pretty nice win, ‘Eers.  Commons:  Baylor pinned the ‘Eers 45-20 in Wacko Oct. 9, “Cyclops” lost by the aforementioned tyoo  on Sept. 25. “Cyclops” have won three in a row.  Game in Morgantown. Is drinking allowed there? This is a BIG game for WVU. Boy, Vegas likes ISU. ‘Clones-5.

Last fucking one thank God.

#25 BYOU-Virginny.  BYU plays a great schedule for an indy. They’ve beaten Arizona and Arizona State,  Utah, Utah State, and Washington State and South Florida. They’ve got Virginia this week and South California coming up. That’s really an impressive schedule. “Mormon Cougs” have tyou losses, in Provo to Boise State and by tyou TD’s in Wacko Oct. 16. The undersigned noted the “Cavaliers” sparkly 6-2 (4-2) record yesterday or whenever it was I did volume one of this tedious opus. They do have those two horrible losses, 59-39 at UNC and 37-17 at home to Woke. They have two nice wins on the road, at UMG 30-28 on Sept. 30 and the following week 34-33 at Lewisville. BYU is the better team and the better-credentialed. They’re ranked 25th, they’re at home, Vegas will make them the favorite by…5.
