How Did the Civil War Last So Long?

Outmanned, outgunned, unindustrialized, poor and backward the C.S.A. has lost:

1) western Virginia
2) Missouri (which it never had but tried to get)
3) Kentucky (ditto)
4) its coastline
5) the middle-Mississippi
6) And now New Orleans, the largest city in the C.S.A. at this time. And we're only in April, 1862. McClellan himself, old Iron Ass, won West Virginia, about the last thing he did win. But he would not move further effectively on Virginia and that's where the war shifted, where it had to shift, the U.S.A. having won nearly everything of importance already, in the next three years.
