I also would like to make a change in April 21, 2020. April 21, 2020 was not "the darkest day": No. July 4, 1776 was "the darkest day." Period there.

Hydroxycoquine, Trump Both Proved Ineffective
The drug touted by the Noted Discotheque Dancer,
...showed no benefit in a large analysis of its use in U.S. veterans hospitals. There were more deaths among those given hydroxychloroquine versus standard care, researchers reported.
As there were when the U.S. had a standard, rather than sub-standard, president!
BUT. That didn't prevent the aforesaid DISCO QUACK from removing the,
...doctor who was...head of the federal agency that is helping develop a vaccine for the coronavirus...after resisting widespread adoption of a drug [that would be Roxy the Coquine] promoted by President Donald Trump as a treatment for Covid-19.
Dr. Rick Bright also said that he believed he was removed from his post because he insisted that “the billions of dollars allocated by Congress to address the Covid-19 pandemic” be invested “into safe and scientifically vetted solutions, and not in drugs, vaccines and other technologies that lack scientific merit.”
The Doomsday Scenario
My fellow Americans this is the darkest night. We are on the edge of the cliff, staring into a vantablack pit of death and ruin. Nothing we have so far sacrificed, 45,000 killed; we have roared past the total number killed in the Korean War, will are within perhaps ten days, probably fewer, of the Vietnam killed; 825,000 cases, a catastrophic new record of 39,500 new cases just today, 20,000,000 unemployment claims already filed, a $2 trillion economic aid bill, $500 billion more passed by Congress today, states running through half or more of their unemployment compensation reserve funds, a teetering stock market, oil trading below $0; the testing lag; A month of social distancing. All of this, all of this: sent over that cliff into that abyss. Are you better off than you were four months ago? No. A month ago? No. We Are Worse Off. Above all, the Herbert Hoover of the 21st Century, a man without a plan, with no clue. Nothing Trump has attempted has worked. It is just murder now. Trump is bent on coldly killing as many Americans as it takes to right the economy in order to win an election of the survivors. Will we make it to November? What kind of country will be left in November? A failed state. What kind of election will we have? A rigged election. This is the worst crisis ever to hit the Republic.

Oh My God Look at This
More new cases today than on any other day previous, 39,500. By FAR more cases. I am nauseous.
It’s not working. The social distancing, the closures—None of it is working. Over 824,000 total cases. 45,000 killed. And Trump is pushing governors to lift the restrictions to get people back to work. He’s going to kill as many people as it takes to get the economy going in order to win reelection.
This is the darkest day.
Tues-day Af-ter-noon

Character Development and Character Ossification in Schitt's Creek.
Continuing our popular series, "Learned Analysis of Discontinued TV Series Whilst Awaiting The Trump DEATH":
Dear Alexis continues to grow. She had the idea for the town council arts and crafts grant. The council accepted it, but over the discouragement of Moira, her mother. Moira poo-poohed Alexis' proposal to her face and then went to the council meeting who approved it, to Moira's jealousy. Who, characteristically, sterotypically for a Jewish mother, puts down any idea by her daughter. And then, when council enthusiasm was expressed, insinuated herself into being co-chair of the project, a Single's Week, with her eye, always, on stealing Alexis' idea.
Alexis visited Mutt, vacillated about staying for fire water, took a few sips, refused Mutt's attempt to seduce her and left. "I have something I have to do." She went to Ted's veterinary clinic and movingly confessed, "I love you. I'm in love with you." I hope that this is not where this is going, to Ted and Alexis' marriage. That would be a fault in the screenplay. The Ted character truly is too boring for Alexis. I have not watched ahead but I could not help but see that the final episode is David marrying Patrick, and Alexis giving David away; Alexis, not Moira. Darling, little Alexis will find a good man. Won't she? I don't know how Eugene and Dan Levy wrote the ending for Alexis but it sure doesn't look like marriage.
The Moira character has not grown in almost all episodes through season four. She is discouraging of anything her daughter does or suggests and failing that is actively sabotaging her. Moira lives in her past as a floozy C-list actress which her imagination inflates to a modest B-list actress. That was her ceiling. She can't even do that now. Can't even get through a 30 second wine commercial without flubbing lines and being asked to leave the set. She was never an appealing character but she was funny. Her character has ossified and she is increasingly less funny.
Surprisingly, since he is based on the real Dan Levy, the David character has not grown. He is not really competent, is relentlessly sky-is-falling negative; has always been dependent on Patrick to make the trains run on time in the business, and on his baby sister to prevent the store being run off with by Townie gypsy thieves, and to close the biggest deal in the store's history, and on Stevie to talk him off the ledge. David has become less appealing as the series goes on as Alexis has become the responsible one, the take-charge one, the one to fulfill Jocelyn's statement to Moira that "Alexis is the most talented person I have ever met."
Alexis seems best poised to redeem and advance the family name and the Alexis Rose character most likely to succeed as the screenplay’s most vibrant, living creation.

Developing Character
The characters develop on this show. Alexis for instance does not remain, not totally remain, a stereotypical Jewish American Princess, over-materialistic and over-sexed. She does not get her high school diploma until age 28 lol but her fourteen years lol prior were not, not totally, a walk--"in nice shoes"--in the wilderness of southeast Asian princedoms and Middle Eastern kingdoms. There are three instances I have seen so far of little Alexis' character rounding.
The first occurred very early on in my watching of the series. I was skipping around quite a bit and now cannot find the episode but it was Jocelyn saying to Moira that"Alexis is one of the most talented people I have ever met." I found it, S4 E12: "Your daughter has grown into one of the most amazing people I have ever known. She is a hard worker; she is kind, and she is capable of more than people give her credit for."
The second occurred after David and Patrick opened their apothecary. There were four teen boy townies loitering around the store entrance every day after school. They would come in the store, one would distract David by complimenting him; one would get Patrick out of the way by asking if the store carried some expensive article in a different size or color, sending Patrick into the back to look, and the other two would shoplift meantime.
Alexis was in the store one day for this gypsy routine. She was just loitering herself, sitting on the counter with her long legs. When the gypsies left she walked David and Patrick through the routine--as she and a girlfriend had done it in Japan or somewhere. David and Patrick were gape-jawed as Alexis explained, and didn't really believe her. Until Patrick checked inventory on the shelves. Little seemingly bubble-headed but worldly wise Alexis had saved the store.
Nobody trusted Alexis to be responsible. There was a prior occasion when she was similarly sitting on the counter with her long legs dangling awaiting a store package, her sole responsibility, when her boyfriend Ted, the veterinarian, came in. Alexis and Ted had sex in the back bathroom where David had installed a new sink. They had sex on the new sink. And broke it.
Alexis, with reason, thought nobody in her family really cared about her. There was the scene in the driving license episode where David tells her that he had to rush send her emergency passports and "colored contact lenses" when she was globe trotting and ceiling walking in those "nice shoes". "I did that. Not mom or dad. I was worried about you." "Well, you didn't have to worry about me," Alexis says. "Well, I did," David retorts. And at that moment Alexis looked out the car window with a touched smile on her face.
The third occurred in season four, in an episode I watched last night. David takes Alexis, who he introduces as his "intern" with him for a crucial meeting with a supplier with whom David desperately wants an exclusivity deal. Unbeknownst to either of them the supplier is Ted's new cougar girlfriend. "I have to be honest with you David, I'm talking to other stores," the cougar businesswoman says. As they chat over lunch the cougar remembers where she recognized Alexis' voice. "If you hadn't been answering the phone all of those months and giving Ted the messages this wouldn't have happened," and she plants a loving kiss on Ted. It just about shattered Alexis. But she recovered with cold steel. When the cougar said, "We feel that we owe you" Alexis pounced. "Well, if you think you owe us, David wants an exclusivity deal for his store." "I'm sold," says the cougar. Now: Unlikely, yes, of course, but give some poetic license for the point of the scene is not the securing the exclusivity deal but the newly seen competent, strategic Alexis.
In the car on the way back home, to the motel, there is a face of Alexis that we have never seen before.
She is staring out the car window broken-hearted. David looks over at her a couple of times and says "Thank you." "You're still in love with him, aren't you?" "Yes."
She has become an iron woman with a young girl’s heart.

“It will all work out well,” he tweeted iOn behalf of the American People, I want to thank President Xi.”
More than a dozen U.S. researchers, physicians and public health experts, many of them from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, were working full time at the Geneva headquarters of the World Health Organization as the novel coronavirus emerged late last year and transmitted real-time information about its discovery and spread in China to the Trump administration, according to U.S. and international officials.
...Senior Trump-appointed health officials also consulted regularly at the highest levels with the WHO as the crisis unfolded, the officials said.
The presence of so many U.S. officials undercuts President Trump’s assertion that the WHO’s failure to communicate the extent of the threat, born of a desire to protect China, is largely responsible for the rapid spread of the virus in the United States.

IHME Douchebag?
Yes.
The model most relied upon by the Trump regime predicted on April 9 that Peak Trump Death would be reached on April 10. April 10 had not even ended when IHME moved the date to April 11. That was the last time I checked those douchebags. Before now. As you can see Peak Trump Death actually was reached on April 15. Keep in touch, IHME.

Her: i think it’s “Ga-ORG!” like gorgeous
Me: oh oh oh 👍🏻

And here are a couple of quotes (out of many!) with a name. The name is Donald J. Trump.

The most often used phrase in the Lamestream Media, by far, is “sources say”, or “officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity”, or anything similar which allows Fake News to make up a phony quote from a person who doesn’t even exist. The American people should demand NAMES!
Trump Epidemic April 19, 12:31 a.m.
735,086: Cumulative total people infected with Trump Virus.
38,910: Cumulative total people Killed by Trump.
5.29%: Trump's Kill Rate of those Trump Infects. That is down from 5.34% yesterday, the first decline I can remember in the ~month I have been tracking.
"Flattening the Curve"?
Daily new cases through April 18
I do believe it is time to "liberate" all and only Trump supporters from social restrictions, to send them out, without masks, to work for the rest of us, and with only other Trump supporters. I would also encourage the resumption of the ever popular Trump Rallies. In compact, indoor venues. To create an atmosphere of "intimacy" with their Leader. Who should be in the closest, unprotected, company with those who adore him. I think that is only right and is only what they deserve for their loyal support. 'Tis a far, far better thing they do than they have ever done before you ain't shittin' me there Jack.

No. For the fifth consecutive day the number of daily new cases has risen.

I think that a fair solution to Trump's War on the States would be for the governors of Minnesota, Michigan, and Virginia to release all Trump supporters from social distancing. I think that all Trump supporters should go back to work without protective masks and socialize only would other unprotected Trump supporters, I think that's fair.
Okay. This is THE most adorable episode of Schitt’s Creek and all of you MUST. WATCH. IT. NOW. Happy Anniversary, which ends season two, is so out of character from the whole series and especially from season two’s opening, Finding David, an ugly episode. This just about made me tear up, okay it did make me tear up.
Against stiff competition Daniel Levy won the season with that last scene. Daniel and Eugene Levy, or whoever the screenwriters were, knocked it out of the park with this episode and redeemed themselves from the opening.
My son is an excellent Rocket Leaguer and an hour or so ago as I was watching Schitt’s Creek he texted me...
I’m starting to hit these. Flip resets off the ball (all 4 wheels touch the ball to give myself an extra flip) and scoring
...and included a short clip of his shots. I was truly impressed:
That is one of the most elegant plays in R-League. I’ve seen it so many times with Sand Rock. That is a MAJOR league play, son. CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks dad! I hit about 1 good one for every 25 tries hehe but I’m progressing. Thanks for the support 😘 (kiss emoji)
Well you hit 3 or 4 in a row in that 10 sec clip!
Dad, that was a gif. It auto replays itself...
oh god
God I love your dumbass
i’m glad you do ‘cause i got a big un
Hahahahaha I’m dying 😂 you’re too funny man
Hahaha I love you so much looool

The courts in the two counties I practice are now closed until June 1. I cannot get into the jails to see my clients, I cannot schedule hearings, I cannot take depositions. This is the first time that I have gotten demoralized about the lockdown. May 1 was just around the corner, I could see May 1 from here. June 1, I can't see June 1 from here. My son and daughter are working! Their father is not. That bothers me. I don't know how my fellow private criminal defense attorneys are surviving financially. I'm in a favorable financial position and am semi-retired anyway. My younger colleagues with families and mortgages, I don't know how they're doing it.

We have these three written statements by the president of the United States today:
“LIBERATE MINNESOTA”
“LIBERATE MICHIGAN”
“LIBERATE VIRGINIA, and save your great 2nd Amendment. It is under siege!”
In 1991 we had this statement by the president of the United States.
