Chen Guangcheng

Chen is on his way, with his wife and children. United flight 88 from Beijing to Newark took off earlier this morning. Chen has an offer to study at NYU.  The Chinese government handled this humiliating situation humanely and responsibly.  The Obama administration was also put in a tight spot and Secretary Clinton resolved it consistent with U.S. human rights values, without further humiliating the Chinese, without any harm to Sino-American relations. Hell, Sino-American relations may be improved off the good faith shown in these negotiations. Everybody's a winner.
