"I’m speaking with myself, number one, because I have a very good brain and I’ve said a lot of things."

Yes, the thing speaks for itself however in matters of moment, on statements of historical significance, it is imperative that we step back. We must need step back as before a work of art and contemplate. Savor. As we would the perfect sentences of a great writer for reading the words and moving on to the next and then the next, there is more to an appreciation of Dickens than that, we must read le mot juste again. And again. And again. Out loud. Silently. For we are not brains in a vat, we are vertebrates, we feel. We “process” with our brains but we feel with our spines. Before art we need feel that tingle down the spine for appreciation. And so we do this now with Donald Trump’s statements, clause by clause, sentence by sentence.
