Couldn't happen to a more deserving fuckee.
The Republican Party's delegate allocation rules are so arcane, so complex, so variable by state. Trump and his campaign do not understand them;Ted Cruz and his campaign do understand them and Trump is not going to get 1,237 delegates.
Did you know that after a primary, a caucus is called to choose delegates? Trump & Co. didn't either. Cruz & Co. did. Did you know that at these caucuses a delegate can be elected, ostensibly as a Trump delegate, and turn out to be for Cruz secretly?
Did you know that while a primary, depending on the state, is open to all voters, Republicans, Democrats, Independents, or just registered Republicans no matter how long they have been registered Republican, could be just since this morning, but that, depending on the state, the delegate allocation caucuses are only open to those who have been registered as Republicans for a period of time, which varies by state? Didn't know that: Trump, me, most of you; did know that: Cruz.
You know how Trump won Louisiana? Think he got a plurality of delegates? Didn't. Will end up with maybe ten fewer than Cruz. Massachusetts was one of Trump's best states, beat second-place by 31 points. You'd think Trump would get all or the majority or an overwhelming plurality of the delegates right? Well, he ain't.
This is embarrassing. This is no way to choose a nominee for president.
Trump is not going to get 1,237 delegates. And he's not going to get the nomination.
