Britain again waives the rules...of democracy.
According to the catechism in two-party democracies you have:
1. A vote.
2. You count the votes.
3. The guy with the biggest number wins, the guy with the littler number loses.
Elementary, my dear Watson.
When there has been a "bird pump" in these elementary rules it has come on number 2. For instance, Americans afflicted with the condition known as "Florida" can't do number two. For more than one instance. And to be fair this has happened in other precincts just not in advanced societies like Haiti who have never gotten "stuck" on number two.
In the history of human government however it has never occurred that somebody has gotten stuck on number three. Until Thursday last.
The United Kingdom has made history. ONE VOTE has produced two losers and no winner. Singular achievement, that.
