Man, we have a short little attention span these days. Jock pencils got their copy in and...Move On. It's just sports, it's just a game. It is. You can have poetry there too. Drama. Myth. Epic narrative.
The Fall of the Golden State Warriors rolls off the tongue as do passages in the King James Bible, Pilgrim's Progress, Shakespeare, Kipling. And there is a biblical parable there! It can be told from two perspectives, too, in two voices, a duet, there is musical rhythm to the story, a sports double violin concerto. There is a King James, a fall from grace, a casting out, an Icarus, redemption, Return of the Prodigal Son, there is rise and fall, triumph and failure.
That is all I wanted to say today.
