But Trump has been blowing these dog whistles--On violence especially, on race, on Jews, on Russia, on authoritarianism for over a year now. Normal people didn't hear Trump's dog whistles until they accumulated and reached critical mass. But Trump's supporters have heard the dog whistles all along! And they have responded with violence, with Heil Hitler salutes, by saying of President, "Fuck that Nigger!," by shouting "Go to Auschwitz!" We are WAY beyond the point where a Trump statement seems to be calling for violence but maybe it was a bad "joke." NO! It seems like it was a call for violence because it was a call for violence. And that is how some Trump supporters will take it!
