Man, one time, in Barnesboro, I came home from school and had to go out on my paper route (I delivered newspapers for my dad.). It was an early fall day. When I walked home from school (We walked to and from school, about one mile, every morning and afternoon.), it was an "Indian Summer" day, sunshine, and probably in the 50's, same as in Manchester today.  I decided to go out on my paper route without a jacket. I don't remember exactly but it probably took me 1-2 hours to complete my paper route. I would have started out in late afternoon and, man, the sun was steady going down those 1-2 hours. About halfway through it was DARK. I about froze my ass off, I did.
