The Russians have told Trump of various ways he can help them divide and conquer the
U.S. "It's race, stupid" is the umbrella for virtually all. Everytime Trump says or does something, tweets something, gives a speech, if we ask ourselves the question "What's in it for the Russians?" in many cases the scales will fall from our eyes. Then, Trump's seeming out-of-nowhere attacks on NFL players, his suggestion that fans boycott games, his White House disinvite of NBA champion Golden State, his praise of NASCAR and his invite to NHL champs Pittsburgh--it's all about race. More importantly, if we ask ourslves that question will not be taken by surprise and can respond with more effectively. That last is still giving me trouble and I'll come back to its. Most importantly, if we ask ourselves a variant of that question, "What new topic would I pick if I were Putin and wanted to sew chaos and divide and conquer the U.S.?" we can predict and take prophylactic action.
"And you lynch Negroes." That is tu quoque, tu quoque is a logical fallacy, "fake argument," we can say, and you would lose in the Oxford Debating Union employing tu quoque...But we're not in the Oxford Debating Union and tu quoque is highly effective with Russian-Americans. Like his mentors Trump has always been extraordinarily vulnerable to attack. But, by lying, the Big Lie is the Communist strategy of first resort, and by employing fake arguments like ad hominem attacks ("low energy," "little," "Rocket Man") of which tu quoque is a subset, Trump has so far deflected all frontal assaults and counter-punched devastatingly. Truth has not been antitote to lie nor logical argument to illogical fallacy.
How do we counter Trump? Fight illogic with illogic? Go toe-to-toe with him fallacy for fallacy? Match hatred with hatred? Trump and Bannon go as low need requires. This is "war" Bannon says. Elizabeth Warren got under Trump's skin by mercilessly mocking him. Be indirect rather than direct? Humor? On that last, Trump has no sense of humor, can not STAND to be laughed at or made fun of. Jon Stewart got to him most of all: Fuckface von Clownstick.
Since "war" is being waged by Putin-Trump-Bannon, in my opinion, we need to go total: direct and frontal, indirect guerilla, financial, legal, we must war daily, we must war personally, we must go after Trump's family, particularly Ivanka, we must ruin Russia's economy, destroy Trump's businesses, we must go after Trump supporters, we must lie, be scurrilous, we must hate. We must overwhelm Putin-Trump from so many different directions simultaneously that it is impossible to counter-punch. We must launch the real-life equivalent of a DoS attack.
