Really, wasn't that your first thought when you heard (1) It was a country music festival (2) Paddock was White? It was mine. Which I told my son. Who wasn't convinced because of the heightened premeditation. Which was a good point. But which is not dispositive. I heard, I think first night, maybe second, two FBI geeks saying "They didn't know what the motive for the Texas Tower massacre was at first but they kept looking and there was a motive, he resented people at the University of Texas." I remembered first hand that case. Charles Whitman. "Resented people at UT? No sirs, unless I am very much mistaken he had a brain tumor." So I wrote my son. And then thought I remembered too that Whitman had whacked his wife and mom before heading off to the tower. I refreshed my memory by looking it up in the Wikipedia...
... and I was right, the two FBI guys had their headquarters up their hindquarters unless I am very much mistaken (And I'm not.). In Whitman's case the excruciating headaches of which he complained were caused by the brain tumor But the obsessive ideation on the tower of which he also complained to a SHRINK, and the subsequent massacre, could NOT be causally linked to the brain tumor, nor, to state the obvious, did the tumor prevent Whitman from careful planning. "Why?" and the near equivalent "Motive?" were NOT answered in Whitman's massacre of August 1, 1966.
Fibbee-Eye, you did an autopsy on Paddock, right?
