Sport

Well...

Notre Dame beat Southern Cal 49-14. That's the #11 team in the freaking country now. That ain't Tennessee. That is one of the most historic rivalries in sports. That is a beatdown. That has to be one of the...top 5? most lopsided results in the series. That is Notre Dame's fifth straight win since the one-point Bulldog Debacle to start the season. We all look at ND now with suspicious eyes where once we were too quick to jump on the bandwagon. Getting blown out in the national championship game will do that. The "Irish" have beaten, killed, woeful Temple, killed 4-4 Boston College in Chestnut Hill, killed now #18 Michigan State in East Lansing, killed woeful Miami (OH), killed woeful North Carolina in Chapel Hill, and now killed #11 SC. The "Irish" have done a lot of killing. Their remaining schedule: #16 North Carolina State, 4-3 Wake Forest, at #8 Miami (Oh BOY), 5-2 Navy, and at #22 Stanford. Chances of running that table? Not. Good. But off the 4-8 catastrophe of 2016, Brian Kelly has lost one game, by one point, at home, to then #15, now #3 and undefeated Georgia. The "Irish" are coming again.

That is it foe Saturday. The best of the EPL matches this weekend are tomorrow. Arsenal play at Everton at 8:30 a.m. NPT, and Liverpool at Tottenham at 11. Until then, arrivederci hotspurs.

Here Come the Irish, Here Come the Irish

#13 Notre Dame du lac "lead" #11 USC 28-0 at the half.

(8:02 pm)
Let's check in on the "Vols":

Alabama finished the job. 45-7 was the final. Yes, they finished the job.

At the conclusion of Tennessee's first and only touchdown, a Mr. Gaulden, #7 for the "Vols," celebrated by giving 'Bama fans a two-finger salute. That made the score 21-7.

Yes. That looks like a Tennessee football game. Next up: the "Vols," will serenade Kentucky with "Rocky Top" while Alabama play at North Korea.

Boy oh boy. Florida State lost another one. The "Semi-Holes," ranked third pre-season, lost their third straight at home to Louisville, 31-28.

(5:52 pm)
Oklahoma State(10) beat Texas in overtime 13-10 in Austin. Pretty limp win for the "'Pokes," if you can say that about beating the "Cuckolds" in Austin, and you can. Texas is 3-4. It is no longer about Mack Brown leaving the cupboard bare or Charlie Strong or Tom Herman. I don't know what it's about in Texas. Somethin'.

Alabama(1) is facializing Tennessee in Tuscaloosa, 21-0 at the half. I do know what it's about on Rocky Top, Butch Jones cain't coach. That's all that's about. I can't believe he's still coaching Tenn after the "Dawgs" pissed all over him. That was one of the ugliest games I've seen in awhile. Tennessee did not do shit.
