The Legend of Manchester City

There have been better teams!...The Leg-end of Man-ches-ter Ci-ty...But none more talented. None as dramatic, as exciting, as much fun...Same number of syllables as The Wreck of the Edmund Fitgerald...They were the bad guys, the most envied, the most hated sports team in the world this side of Miami. A foreign legion of soldiers of fortune: a thug hit man from Italy, a baby-faced stiletto assassin from Argentina, a Spaniard creating anarchy, a blonde beast from Bosnia, a gap-toothed fire plug. Managed by a high-strung Italian. They were Team Nervous Breakdown, a madcap group of crazies and crazy foxes. They were "noisy neighbors," and they edged their betters of Sir Alex Ferguson to the Premier League title. On the last day of the season! In stoppage time! The Legend of Manchester City. Somebody ought to write a song or an epic poem about them.
