History!

My Gawd! The University of Maryland Baltimore County, a 16th (lowest) seed in the NCAA basketball tournament became the first Anchor Man to defeat a #1 seed--And the tournament's overall #1 seed--today. The "Retrievers" treated the University of Virginia very cavalierly and used a second half blitz to destroy and humiliate Mr Jefferson's university, 74-54 An astounding result, a rout of the committee-chosen best team in the land

A total humiliation also for the vaunted Atlantic Coast Conference who are now 1-4 in the tournament. Three other ACC teams are playing right now, Clemson, Syracuse, and Florida State, and all three are winning. But today's UMBC-UVA game will go down in history as the biggest upset in the tournament ever and the biggest ball-buster to a conference ever. The PAC 12 had that distinction until just now The PAC men put only three teams in the tourney and all three were defeated the first day by upstate New York.
