Although released in 1974 I first heard Please Come to Boston as I was moving to Boston in 1977. The song has always touched me deeply. It is plaintive, like San Francisco by Scott McKenzie. I originally understood its eponymous line as a personal calling. Boston was calling me. Even after I got it I refused to take it as other than a plea to go to Boston. It is a soulful song.
