These were on a wall in the background in a model shoot. The photog was masterful in getting the angle of the photo right for the model in the foreground but also in getting the picture-within-the-picture of the photograph on the wall. In some shots the palm leaves could be the wall photograph model’s fingers. In some a mask. In others almost a veil. The photog kept an eye on his model in the foreground but had another eye on the picture on the wall. It’s very well done.
Just lovely.
And there was another photograph on the wall.
And damn if the photog didn’t use that photo. Look at this:
He precisely positioned his model to create a halo around her head.
That’s GOOD stuff right there.
And these are by a different photographer. I don't know who the photographer is, there is no watermark to id, and I wish I did know. These are highly skilled, such attention to detail. In both the set above and in some sets below that I am not showing you, I thought the model let the photog down a bit. (S)he had created perfect frames for the models, in those below, in Arab markets in Tunisia, as I recall. The model above was not beautiful enough, imo. Below the models tick the beauty box—but this is an artistic photo shoot, love, you are beautiful, the setting is magnificent, I have dressed you exquisitely, do you have ANY acting ability, dear?, any conception of how to pose? When you see the work of a manifestly exceptional talent behind the lens you appreciate how much difference talent in front of the lens makes.
Look at the harmony of color in this one! Skin, gown, the globule lights, the colors of the market. The model has a Sphinx-like facial expression proper for this shoot. The photog has framed her beautifully in the narrow market aisle. I don’t like her footwear and that is in the photog’s control.
Lovely. Gorgeous model, voluptuous body, FABULOUS choice of Arabesque gown that accentuates her bust. Great color matching.
Gorgeous model. Don’t like that gown slit particularly. The footwear is better than in the top.
This is the height of color harmonization by the guy or gal behind the lens. That's a patterned over-blouse and skirt, not a mono-color like those above. The skin, her face, her chest, legs, perfect. The orange lighting perfectly picks up the colors in her outfit. That is
tough to match but the photographer knocks it out of the park. Photog, why not those elegant, gold heels on the models above, eh?
This is from a set labeled, I believe, "French Girl in Algiers". Not as rich a brown/burnished gold as in the market shots above and still the photog matches magnificently. The models hair, the dull wood stall frame, and the muted browns in her patterned gown. Marvelous.
Now THAT is a French woman! 👏 The hair. Everything is symmetrical and balanced here: the model's pose in front of the arch, the colors are balanced and when philosophers of beauty identify facial symmetry as being a universal key to beauty, you have that in this model's face. To test facial symmetry I often reverse the image and see how the model looks. I didn't do that here but you can tell that that is a symmetrical face. I don't know if those are Moorish arches. If so, then I think this dress is too Western business-like. Little too much boobage for me in this artistic-type shot.
Her hair blew down a little. Everything is soft and gauzy and that is a magnificent Arabesque gown. Here you can see in the background the Moorish influence. Exceptional photo.
And to me the highlight of the work of this photog that I saw. Look at the flow of the gown behind her to the left. She could be the statue on the prow of a ship.
Extremely well-crafted photography—photographic art.
