You don’t often see a president of the United States looking admiringly at another world leader. Stoltenberg, a Norwegian, has agreed to stay on as Secretary General of NATO for another year, at President Biden’s request. You see Stoltenberg’s fists clenched there. That is the man in a snapshot. As stalwart a Sec-Gen as NATO has had in my memory during an extraordinarily trying time.
