The Toilet Nation was built on the backs of African slaves. The greatest slave trader was James DeWolf of Bristol, Rhode Island. DeWolf became a U.S. senator. When he died he was the second-richest man in America. A nation cannot outrun that legacy. Neither can a family. The DeWolf's have their own cemetery in Bristol. James DeWolf's burial mound has been vandalized so many times that there is now a heavy steel plate at the entrance. I went to the cemetery on a visit to see my daughter some years ago. I took this photo of the headstone of another DeWolf slaver descendant.
