Russia's "Phantom Limb Syndrome."

Man, some guys have all the luck. No. Some people are just brilliant. Yesterday, National Public Radio broadcast an interview with New Yorker writer David Remnick on Russia. Mr. Remnick had lived in Russia. He said, in describing what gives with Putin's "Greater Russia" idea, that it was loss-of-empire phantom limb syndrome. Damn. That is perfect. I don't know if Remnick came up with that on his own, and alone, but somebody did and Remnick or whomever deserve...something, some award or something. We'll give him a Poznan. A Poznan for David Remnick and whomever.
