After last week's humiliating loss to woeful Kansas every media outlet reported, sourced directly to the UT administration, that head coach Charlie Strong was going to be fired. Completely understandable. Completely justified.
Come Monday and he was not. Inexplicably to many (Here!), the Texas AD said Strong would be evaluated at the end of the season, after today's game. Into the breach stepped LSU and of a sudden Tom Herman, the odds-on favorite to be Strong's successor, supposedly was headed to Red Stick.
Then, inexplicably, Herman lost today. Again. Seemingly having the choice (!) between two of the best jobs in college football, Herman took his team into Memphis today and for the third time this season, lost to an underdog.
"Charlie Lives."
Seemingly, all Charlie Strong had to do was beat TCU to keep the job that was supposed to being FedEx'd to Tom Herman.
And the Texas-TCU game did result in a blowout, 31-9.
Better put in this context, 9-31, for the "Horny Toads" blew out the "Shorthorns."
We await word from Austin.
