Had a goddamned tornado warning come through our phone about a half hour ago. Jesus Christ. Since then there have been...like right now!...these few second intervals of silence. Eery, creepy, deathly silence.

This is the worst so far. The wind is at its most intense with little let up. The wind created a little vacuum in my condo unit and sucked my eardrums in. For the first time my windows are rattling a little and I have a bit of water inside. It is worse now than when I went out and had my glasses knocked off.

According to Weather Underground the worst for Miami Beach has past, 76 mph winds at 2 pm. Little rain. Hour by hour the wind speed is predicted to drop: 74 mph at 3 pm, 73 at 4:00, 70 at 5:00, 68 at 6:00. 64 at 7:00, and then a big drop to 47 mph at 8 pm. If we can make it to 8:00 without losing power then we should be fine. And the winds will be low enough then, what they were last night, that I can go out and look for food.

I have been sitting here thinking "Why am I such a dope?"

I went back outside, Weatherman says 11 am winds were at 71 mph, close enough for government work to the peak 73 mph at 4 pm.

-Wind blew my glasses away, never did find them, could be in Hialeah by now.

-Got stuck briefly in the elevator.

-Could not get back into the building for lack of key to stairwells.

-Was observed by a neighbor and rescued.

My mind is not playing tricks with my memory. There is no way I could have stood in the surf with winds as strong or stronger than this. I'd a been blown to Newfoundland. Strongest winds I, personally, have ever experienced. God keep the people of the Keys and the west coast.

These are the strongest winds I, personally, have ever felt. Maybe age is playing games with my memory. In 2004/5 I was in the ocean during a Category 3, in the fucking ocean, I was with my then-girlfriend and all of a sudden this patch of blue opened above our heads. "Wow, I guess it's passed...No, but here it comes again." It was the fucking eye. Anyway, maybe my mind is playing games with me but those winds do not seem to have been as strong as these.

The strongest gust I've felt so far just passed by.

The New York Times reports that the Keys got hit with 130 mph winds. Could I have stood on the street as I did a few minutes ago in wind double that? No.

Weather Underground has this cool graphic, a digital wind gauge in real time. 68 mph when I first got on, 59 mph now, but then as a gust dissipates, it goes down to 3 mph or even 1 mph. Weather boys say peak wind on the Beach is going to be 80 mph (down from 90 last nigh) at 3 pm.

I went out. 

Nature is magnificent. It so dramatic out there. And this is a nothing storm on Miami Beach. It's blowin', it's blowin' hard and you can see it on my face. It's raining but not hard.

You can't capture the wind in stills and I can't post videos on Blogger for some reason so this is the best I can do. My guess from feeling some of it is these are about 60 mph winds.

In the last hour or so, hasn't been as much noise outside. I just looked out and the palm fronds are blowing like my hair but little noise, now "howling" certainly and just an occasional half-hearted growl, not even a roar, a growl.

The window's in mi casa haven't budged, haven't made a peep. No shake rattle and roll. Just tight. The road looks like it has "sweated," you know, like it "glows" or "glistens" or whatever women are supposed to do but not horses or men, it does not look rained on but I still think it has been been, I'm deductive that way.

It's moving off the coast of Cuba s-l-o-w-l-y, 6 mph. Irma, where's you get-up-and-go, kid? Let's not tarry now! The overpictured is out of FOOD and you haven't even done your business yet. God, how women do drag things out. "Be down in a minute, dear!" C'omon Irma, put some bees in your bonnet and GO! 

MB is not on any forecast track now. Both the retards at the National Hurricane Center and the brainaics at ECMWF have it hugging the west coast of Flor-eye-day like stink on shit, I mean that bitch don't move. Gonna hit the panhandle the retards say, I think the brainaics, too, but I forget.

Cabin fever. 

It's fucking boring, man. The undersigned went out to put his car up an hour and a half ago. First time today.

Two police cars. It is like a neutron bomb--Like the Miami Beach mayor said! What an idiot.--went off. Weird.

I don't have any alcohol-booze and now we're under curfew.

No. According to Weather Underground the highest wind will be at 4 pm Sunday, 90 mph. That's Category 1 hurricane wind. How can that be if we're beyond the measured range (70 mi.)--As we surely are!--for hurricane-force winds? I don't know.

WU says she's blowin' at 44 mph now. That feels right, when she's blowin'! Supposed to increase a couple or so mph's an hour until 4 pm manana.

Ground is wet but it only rains when a band comes through. No water accumulation so far, much less flooding.
