I have written these words, in my proposed speech on the capitol steps in Austin, Texas. I borrowed from Herb Brooks' locker room talk to the 1980 Olympic hockey team. I borrowed from JFK's We Choose to go to the Moon speech in Houston. I channeled the conventional wisdom of political scientists and historians that once in a lifetime Americans have been called upon to save the nation and touched with a fire that tempered and sobered them and forged them into unassailable steel, they chose the right man.
You were born...to be here tonight. This is your time. Their time is done. It's over...This is your time. Now go out there and take it!"
Joe Biden was born for this moment. This is his time; Trump's is over. This is Joe Biden's moment. And he is going to go out there and take it! Twenty-five hours or so from right now Joe Biden will become the 46th president-elect of the reconstituted United States of America.
