Cuomo’s Curtains
It’s the broken-record story of men in power. Regardless of the field the power source locus is in men think power grants liberty. Our country was founded uniquely on the principle that liberty grants power. Three young women have accused Andrew Cuomo, the governor of New York, of sexually overbearing conduct. Cuomo also has a long and unbroken history of bullying and berating people of all races, colors, creeds, and genders. And recently his administration was caught fudging nursing home death numbers. Republicans, Democrats—particularly Democrats—up and down New York state have had it. I never fell for the “Cuomosexual” thing. Andrew Cuomo was, to me, a walking, talking stereotype of the man in power behaving badly. I am so sick of this behavior—How many men does it take to engage in this boorish conduct before we realize that stereotypes are not malevolently plucked out of the ether at random to tar a group with no evidence? No! Stereotypes resonate with people because we have seen so often the behavior that makes it a type. In this case, and oodles more, it’s men in power who act like king asses. Mamas don’t let your babies grow up to work for men in power.
