I have not mentioned this, because frankly it embarrasses me, but the “Heat” have a player on their roster named “Precious.” Precious Achiuwa was the team’s first round (20th overall) draft pick out of Memphis in 2020. He has the “Heat” body, 6’8” of course, 235 lbs. As a rookie on a vet-preferred team that went to the Finals in 2020 Achiuwa’s minutes have been precious and few, 13 per so far.

What was his mother thinking? You just DON’T give a boy the name Precious. What do his teammates call him? I’m not exaggerating—If I had been names Precious I would have changed my name as soon as I could and I would have resented my mother.
