An 18-shot deficit in a half of NBAbasketball is hard to do. The Sixers took 10 more free throws, so we can knock that number down to 13. Regardless, the degree of difficulty is so high when a team loses the possession game to that degree. The Sixers are a better shooting team than Miami, but they’re not that much better.
That disparity is the result of two areas: offensive rebounds and turnovers.
