Jonah BromwichReporting from inside the courthouse
Todd Blanche just played an interesting game with the phrase “retainer agreement.” He has insisted loudly that Michael Cohen testified there was no retainer, multiple times. Then he gestures toward an email from Allen Weisselberg, the Trump Organization’s chief financial officer, referencing an “agreement.” But that email says nothing about a “retainer agreement” specifically, and in fact, per Cohen’s testimony, refers back to his agreement with Weisselberg and Trump to disguise reimbursements for the hush-money payment.
That’s transparently sleazy. Jurors don’t like to be misled. *Addie Pray disgust face*
