Sheriff Clarence Dupnik should be commended for this official statement today, speaking for his department. The situation in Tucson is so very unclear right now, but Sheriff Dupnik's remarks are wise and true whether the shooting does turn out to be politically motivated, as universally reported so far, or not:
"The anger, the hatred, the bigotry that goes on in this country is getting to be outrageous."
