President Obama and Attorney General Holder spoke compellingly of the pain, personal to them, of racial profiling. And so of the potential for tragedy in encounters based upon any profiling, racial or not, as in Trayvon Martin's killing.

George Zimmerman was a "neighborhood watchman."  What George Zimmerman was doing that night in Florida is called "surveillance" when done by state agents. Zimmerman's surveillance was done in secrecy from his "target." Then Zimmerman initiated contact with his target. His surveillance became known to his target. It enraged his target.

Surveillance is aggression, passive-aggression, still aggression. This black President, this black Attorney General, are the heads of the most extensive neighborhood watch program in history.
