Arright, fine! I'll carry the flag. There was a short article in The New York Times Saturday on Putin's decision to invade and annex Crimea. The article said the decision was emotional, spontaneous and haphazard, exactly the way the Obamas conduct foreign policy, heh-heh-heh, no it didn't say that about Obama but it did say that about Putin's decision here! Surprising since Putin's decision-making style has been described as well-thought, well-executed, and strategic. He did not rely on the Foreign Ministry (Lavrov) in this instance. Instead he and a small circle of former KGB cronies made the decision. Bad surprise. The article said this about what motivated Putin:
"Mr. Putin acted out of what the officials described as a deep sense of betrayal and grievance, especially toward the United States and Europe."
No explanation.
