Man, Europe is in a bad way

A "third wave" of COVID is sweeping through Europe, staggering the continent as the British variants, more resistant to vaccines and lightning-spreading, rampage. Italy, so hard hit last year, so hard hit, is locking down again. And now at this worst possible time several European countries have temporarily halted administration of the AstraZeneca vaccine, developed at Oxford, and the only vaccine widely available on the continent, out of concern for a handful of serious alleged side effects (one death) in the millions who have taken the vaccine. It says here, for the nothing it is worth, that Europe is making a BIG mistake. There is no linkage of the side effects to the vaccine except propinquity; the number of those experiencing alleged serious “side effects” to AZ is so miniscule compared to the risk of COVID to those not vaccinated that Europe is dismantling its sole defense with the enemy storming the gates. From where I sit, far from Europe, the decision to suspend is one that European leaders will regret but once, and that is continuosly. I pray for the people of Europe tonight. God keep them.
