Miami led by 8 after one. The "Hornets" had an amazing second, 28-15, to lead 51-46 at the half. Then the "Heat" just blitzed them in the third, 35-8 (!) to put the game away 81-59 heading into the 4th. How do you make sense of on quarter dominating and the very next being humiliated? Chazz is not making the effort over 48'. They lack character and belief.
Every but U.D. played for Miami. Jimmy led with 27 on immaculate 10/13 shooting (no doubt Buzz let him get right to the rim (Yeah, Jimmy was 7/7 from the line.)). Bam had 20 and 12 (6/7 on free throws), so Charlotte played no interior defense. Tyler was third-high with 19, 7/13 (5/8). Those were the only "Heatsters" in double figures. Donut, playing his next to last game in a "Heat" uniform, was a putrid, pathetic 1/9 (1/7). Chazz had 19 t.o.'s to Miami's 12.
I don't know who Charlotte's coach is but this is becoming another lost season of basketball up there. They've had a lot of those in this incarnation with Michael Jordan as owner and as the "Bobcats." They've now lost four in a row. At now 28-26 Chazz has got the talent but they aren't showing it. You'd have to be a basketball team of Stephen Hawkings to read as poorly as this one did tonight. Once this was a jewel of a franchise. Alexander Julian unis, Alonzo Mourning, Larry Johnson, Muggsy Bogues, 23,901 every home game. Gorgeous facility, I went there once. George Shinn. In an unrelated post today I wrote "you can't overestimate ownership." Shinn is an example of how a bad owner who can take a jewel and take a hammer to it. I forget what happened to him, there was some sex scandal or something, then he wanted a new building, then the team moved to New Orleans. The city got an expansion franchise that went to Bob-Something (hence "Bobcats"), another dick-head owner. Now Michael. MJ ain't MJ as an owner.
The "Heat" are 34-20 after this win over this sorry team, in a statistical tie for first with Chicago who have two games in hand.
