Joshua Steinglass is playing a recording the jurors heard earlier in the trial — a conversation that Cohen secretly recorded between himself and Trump discussing the Karen McDougal deal in September 2016.

Steinglass argues that the conversation shows Trump’s “cavalier willingness” to hide this payoff and “unequivocally shows a presidential candidate actively engaging in a scheme to influence the election.”
