The Islamic attacks on America of September 11, 2012 began in Egypt. But staffers at the American Embassy in Cairo frantically tweeted their absolution of the Muslim horde, blaming the attacks on "Innocence of Muslims." During the so-called "Arab Spring" protests in Egypt in 2010 President Obama made it official U.S. policy to side with opinion of the Egyptian "street." Ever since the U.S.-brokered Camp David Accords Egypt has been the Favored One in Islam among the appeasers. Billions of dollars of U.S. taxpayer money has been lavished on Egypt yearly. So, who are these people? What are the views of the Egyptian "street?"
In May the Pew Research Center published the results of its comprehensive survey of public opinion in the Islamic world:
-"Favor making sharia the law of the land:" 74% of the Egyptian "street."
-Of those, the percentage who say sharia should apply to non-Muslims too: 74% on the Egyptian street, the highest in the Islamic world.
-"Favor the death penalty for those leaving Islam:" 86%, the highest percent in the Islamic world.
-"Religious judges should decide domestic and property disputes:" 95% in Egypt, first in Islam.
-"Favor corporal punishment (e.g. flogging, cutting off hands) for criminal offenses: 70% in Egypt.
-"Favor stoning as punishment for adultery:" 81% in Egypt.
