Fredericksburg was the first American town to be sacked by Americans, i.e. the U.S. troops, including the Pennsylvania 133rd. That was on December 12. Then on the 13th of course they stupidly tried 14 assaults on Marye's Heights. Fifteenth time a charm? From start to finish the United States performance at Fredericksburg was an embarrassment and unmitigated disaster.
