I take it back. Reading Gregg Popovich's remarks, I take back that Trump "is" your president or my president. Personally accepting that he is president conveys personal legitimacy on him as president. I refuse to do that. His win in the Electoral College does not convey legitimacy on him. Democracy would not have conveyed legitimacy on him had he won the popular vote. Hitler got over 44,000,000 votes in a democratic election. Those 44,000,000 did not convey legitimacy on his rise. Democracy does not give an Adolph Hitler or a Donald Trump an imprimatur of legitimacy. And Trump will not get it from me.
I'm with my daughter. #NotMyPresident. She's on the right side of history. To personally accept Trump's legitimacy as president is to not resist. We have to resist. We have to fight, as my daughter said.
