Las Vegas Massacre

The autopsy showed no brain abnormalities. They are still awaiting the toxicology results. I predict that there will be some prescription drugs present, nothing controlled, some etoh, nothing in any concentration or in combo that is going to help answer "Why?" Psychological records? Did the guy ever see a shrink?

I am becoming more persuaded that for Paddock, who lived in a virtual world, poker online for 14 hours a day, little human contact, this was a dark game, I mentioned The Thomas Crowne Affair in one of the earliest posts, just to see if he could do it, pull off the worst mass murder ever, hidden in plain view. White guy, familiar, comped hotel room, "Good evening Mr Paddock. Help you with your bags?"

I think Paddock chose the country music festival, mainly White people, specifically so that there could be no clues taken from his choice of victims, as there would have been had it been a rap concert for instance.

It seemed to me significant that Paddock was not a registered voter. Think of it: intelligent, educated White guy, 58 years old, never registered to vote.(?) That is extremely unusual. Why? To leave no clues. Paddock's background seems to me too clean to be real. No political affiliation, no ideological bend, no religious preference, no arrest record.

In that sense the massacre may have been years, decades, in the planning. Maybe the thought popped into his head one day, as it does to many people, of committing the perfect crime, "Rob a bank like dad did? Nah?" "Murder like Leopold and Loeb? Hmm." But the Bobby Franks murder was personal, hands on, "intimate." Eww. Paddock may not have been able to do that. But this: he sits at a window, much like he would at his computer screen playing poker, and through his window, far down below, he sees all these little things moving about. Hardly look real from that distance, in the dark. That is not an intimate crime, there is no hands on human contact. Unlike in other people who momentarily muse about committing the perfect murder, the thought metastasized in Paddock, the perfect murder thought bubble grew into the perfect mass murder thought bubble and it took on a virtual reality inside his head. Paddock then constructed his real life in such a way so as to leave no clues for the crime.

It seems to me to have been a deliberately motive-less crime. The "motive" was to carry out motive-less mass murder and thereby "beat the house." Speculation on my part obviously, based not upon facts but upon their absence.
