So that was the founding of "The Democracy," huh?

I'm reading Jon Meacham's biography of Andrew Jackson as president, "American Lion." About half-way through. Way past the first inaugural reception at the White House, the drunken debacle above. How embarrassing.Trump is supposed to be Jacksonian, his supporters Jacksonian. President Trump's first inaugural reception at Studio 54?

I'm not liking it. Jackson was as autocratic as he could get away with being; accrued more power to the presidency than his six predecessors combined, his six successors combined; slave owner; forced removal of the Indians, ignoring all previous treaties; ignored treaties, Sounds more and more like Trump!; White man rule; as close to Mob Rule as we've come; violent: duels, plural; massacred Indians, massacred the British; not well-educated but not unintelligent; his supporters neither well-educated nor intelligent-the Mob; the "Petticoat Wars:" how embarrassing,  Not liking it at all.
