Fourth and Five Franklin

Jew know James had another fourth and five yesterday? He did. He tried a fake punt with the score tied 7-7. It was so obvious Indiana was ready for it, stuffed it and went on to score the go ahead touchdown. James is not a master play caller.

Jew know James has a history of what I call “fulcrum” games? He do. I just looked up his record on the Wikipedia. In 2016 with Paterno-Sandusky he was 2-2 after getting hammered by Harbaugh 49-10. He then won nine in a row. In 2013 at Vanderbilt he was 4-4 after getting blown out 56-24 at Texas A&M then won five in a row to end the season. In 2012 at Vandy he was 2-4 after getting chomped 31-17 by #4 Florida in Nashville. He then won seven in a row (including bowl game). That’s three times in the previous six completed seasons.

Might the Michigan State loss this season be what the Michigan loss was in ‘16, the diving board from the bottom of the pool that launches PSU all the higher? In ‘16 James followed the fulcrum loss with a close win against Minnesota. In 2018 the fulcrum loss to Michigan State was followed by a close win at Indiana.

Why does this happen with James? What is it with this guy on fourth and five?
