I'm pissed, thank you, how are you doing today?
Well, I'm pissed because the Benjamin Marshall Society does not list the Iroquois Theater among Marshall's credits:
So little is known about the architect of Chicago's Drake Hotel and his many other famous iconic public buildings and residential landmarks. They include his creation of East Lake Shore Drive, in addition to the Edgewater Beach Hotel, the South Shore Cultural Center, the Blackstone Hotel, the Blackstone Theater (now the Merle Reskin Theater)
It was a lovely theater.

It was a lovely theater.
Outside,
and inside.
Most importantly, it was "Absolutely Fireproof".
And that thanks in no small part to the way Benjamin Marshall designed the Iroquois. The Iroquois remained absolutely fireproof all the way from its grand opening on November 23 until December 30, 1903.
That was in no small part thanks to the design of 29 year-old architect Benjamin Marshall.
An inadequate number of exits.
Some of which could not be opened.
Confusing M.C. Escher-like stairways leading where?.
Other apparent exits actually false mirrored wall panels.
Seating with no aisles.
"So little is known about" Benjamin Marshall that I'm pissed that the Benjamin Marshall Society does not even mention their hero's design of this historic structure.
More should be known about Benjamin Marshall. Definitely. Public Occurrences is doing its part.
