And there you have it: the first photograph of a black hole, revealed today at the National Press Club by the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.

This black hole is seven billion times more dense than our sun and is violently spewing energy 5,000 light-years into space, more violently and farther even than Tottenham Hotspur fans spewed yesterday. It was located and was photographed in galaxy Messier 87, 55 million light-years from earth.
