Authoritarianism

There is an article in William Kristol’s zine The  Bulwark that makes a great point. Voting for an authoritarian, as 74M people did in 2020, changes the voters. You can tell yourself, “Well, it was just because it was this one guy, I’m not an authoritarian,” but you ARE. It makes it okay to do it again after you’ve done it once. So maybe like a drug, one entire political party, and all of its individual constituents, is now addicted to authoritarianism. It’s their new normal.
