That horse led the field wire-to-wire and was pulling away down the stretch! That is highly unusual. The Belmont kills horses, it is so long they run out of gas. They're just not used to that length. Not this horse! American Pharoah led by 3/4 length the entire race until the stretch run, ended up winning it by, it looked to me, 2 lengths. A courageous performance by American Pharoah! It has been 37 years and we have a worthy Triple Crown winner.
