These were attacks on France, Je Suis Charlie doesn't cut it. But neither would Nous Sommes Tous Francais. If the French were Americans on 9/11/01 and Americans are French today it is because we are all Westerners. These were attacks on the West, attacks upon Western Civilization. They were installments of the clash between the Western and Islamic civilizations that have been going on since 1095.

There are 5,000,000 Muslims in France, every one of them a border with Western Civilization; every one a potentially bloody border. Islam has bloody borders because Islam is a violent religion. The clashes between Islam and the West which have now lasted over 1,000 years will continue. They will continue until Islam undergoes reformation, as Christianity did. The West must attack Islam, must destroy this Islam.
