Legal stuff.

A federal appeals court ruled today that NSA's collection of domestic metadata had not been authorized by congress. The court held that section 215 of the Patriot Act passed by congress did not authorize the collection. The court said if congress intends that then it should amend the language of the act to say that. That's what the court said...in layman's language...as I understand it. The court actually wrote a 97 page opinion in legal language which I have not read but that's what it "boils down to"...as I understand it.
