I have noticed this previously about our new president and was reminded of it again reading tonight: At the center of an unprecedented cataclysm of storms existentially challenging to him personally and to his nation, Joe Biden exudes a preternatural calm, not the oblivious calm of his predecessor, but a knowing calm of one who sees the entire system as from on high and who sees the way to navigate safely. I first saw this "on high-ness" in his Gettysburg speech.
