Maple leaves (Leafs?) turn red in October, eh? So they have in Britain and now in Canada. The Liberal Party swept the Conservatives yesterday and with them Prime Minister Stephen Harper from power. The new PM is 43 year old Justin Trudeau, son of former PM Pierre Elliott Trudeau. Harper's relationship with President Obama, and Canada's with the U.S., were October chilly. Will they improve now? Under the elder Trudeau Canada cast its eyes east to Europe rather than south.
