What I really want to know is whether the Republicans who were planning on objecting to the certification will still go through with it when Congress reconvenes.
Good question. They have to certify today, Jan. 6. If they don’t they may run into constitutional problems. Maybe Congress can, in an emergency, choose another date. But is anybody in Congress thinking of that now? What if they just go home? If they don’t certify today and don’t formally choose another date I am sure there are going to be constitutional problems.
