I didn’t think they could get involved domestically. I guess I thought that because the ten living SECDEFs said they oughtn’t. Oughtn’t doesn’t mean can’t; oughtn’t means “we advise not. Really advise not.” Can they act on their own? This commander in chief ain’t gonna call ‘em in. Can the Chairman or the Chief of the Army call in the troops on his/her own? I don’t know but I think it highly unlikely. Some civilian leader, Pence, Pelosi, the acting SECDEF would have to request them. “Support” suggests a prior “Help!” On the other hand they are quite categorical about “President-elect Biden will be inaugurated and will become our...commander in chief.” That’s not “ought” to be, “would be nice if he was,” that is “WILL.” Y’all got that? WILL. Stay ready.”
Man I'm glad we got that constitution thing. Glad the boys with the toys pledge allegiance to that and not the commander in chief hooo doggie.
